As a relatively newly structured public corporation operating in a sector of significant national strategic importance, RAC needed to establish a digital presence that communicated its mandate, its asset portfolio, and its role in Malaysia's broader rail development agenda clearly and credibly to a stakeholder audience that includes government ministries, infrastructure developers, investors, and the public. The challenge was not simply to build a website. It was to build a platform that immediately conveyed institutional credibility for an organisation whose work — while foundational to the country's rail connectivity — is not always visible to general audiences. The corporate website needed to serve as RAC's primary public-facing communication channel: explaining what the corporation does, the scale of the assets it manages, and why its work matters to Malaysia's infrastructure future. As a government-linked corporation operating in a regulated infrastructure environment, the platform also needed to meet the standards of transparency, professionalism, and accessibility expected of a public body — with a content management architecture that allowed RAC's communications team to maintain and update the platform independently as the organisation's activities evolve. As a commercial cargo operation serving freight forwarders, logistics companies, and direct shippers across international routes, MABKargo's digital platform needed to function as an operational tool: one that gave customers real-time visibility of their shipments, the ability to check available flights and book cargo capacity online, and access to a door-to-door service offering that extended MABKargo's reach beyond airport-to-airport delivery. The technical complexity of this requirement is significant. Shipment tracking for an international cargo airline requires integration with Global Distribution System (GDS) networks — the infrastructure that underpins international air freight data across carriers and freight handlers worldwide. Surfacing accurate, real-time tracking data through a public-facing web portal demands a reliable, maintained integration layer that connects MABKargo's operational systems to the customer-facing platform without exposing internal data or creating latency that undermines the user experience. Maintaining this platform over a 17-year period — through changes in airline branding, commercial strategy, technology infrastructure, and ownership — required a technology partner with both the capability to build the original system and the commitment to evolve it continuously alongside the organisation.
